Bragging Rights?

"If I have to "brag" about myself, I'll brag about the humiliations that make me like Jesus." 2 Corinthians 11:30 (The Message)

I'm struggling. I feel that the Lord brought this verse to me this morning and I'm not sure why. Maybe I shouldn't be so honest, but there it is.

The one thought that keeps coming to me though-- and maybe this is why we needed to see this verse today is this--that God uses us. He has faith and uses us to further His Kingdom.

But this is what I struggle with--how do you let Him use you and then share the glory of what happened without sounding that you are bragging? I don't want to be the center "me". My prayer of late is to please help me not to keep putting "me" in the center of everything. To take the self focus off of me.

As I've been pondering this, the Lord used a friend to give me some insight. It's not in the words of how you share the miracles, it's in the spirit of how you tell it. Does that make sense?

When God uses you to do something, great or small, if you are to share it, you need to put you in the place of the miracle that you need to be. That is obvious. But it is in what spirit that you share it that makes the difference between "bragging" and just sharing a wonderful God-moment that you were honored to be apart of.

Doesn't that sound so simple? I get it so wrapped up with all sorts of emotions that before I know it, I have a tangled mess of emotions in my hands. And while I sit there, all frustrated with this big ball of tangled mess, Jesus just gently comes over and picks up my ball and calmly unwinds everything and makes it right.

So, go ahead, share your miracles! Our God is an awesome God!

  1. the connection to the lord is a personal one ,no one can understand. they can some how relate but the truth is yours. although the experiences can be similar the way you interpet your experiences with God is a personal one . so live in the moment no need to brag ,but be joyful and gracious and if the Lord wants you to share this relationship he will put you in the position to spread the word.it isnt always obvious even for the one who lives the truth a simple word of understanding can bring others closer to the Lord .even to someone who has no relationship with God. I always remember that God has the ability to heal your mind ,your body and your soul, you might not understand but God does.so live in the light and understand that sometimes it takes awhile for others to come to the party.and yes God is an awesome God.
