We live in a fearful world. Fear of failure. Fear of being alone. Fear of being forgotten. Fear of being judged. Of not living up to whatever the criteria is that we or the world has set us up for. Fear is all around us.
Not all fear is bad. There is the healthy fear that keeps us from doing wrong or keeps us from doing crazy things. That fear we need to keep. It's from our spirit.
But the worldly fear is just a way to keep us under the control of satan. If we are too fearful, we won't venture out and do what our spirit tells us to because, well, what happens if I fail? What happens if people judge me?
Take heart my friend! Don't let fear control your life. Put yourself into the Lord's hands. With His love, He will calm all your fears. With His love, you can and will do mighty things. With His love, you have no reason to fear.
"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Thanks Eric, I realize, with all my false bravado that although I am not afraid to die...lately I am afraid to live. This is so hard.
