Integrity

"But look, God will not reject a person of integrity,
nor will He lend a hand to the wicked.
He will once again fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy."
Job 8:20-21 NLT

What does integrity mean to you? I think that it is a word that the world uses very casually these days. But God doesn't.

In Noah's Bible Dictionary, integrity means, "Moral soundness; honesty; freedom from corrupting influence or motive; uprightness." If you listen to the news or read the newspapers or just at times, talking to your friends, the high standards that God had designed for us and our integrity, has been whitewashed to be just standard or even in some cases, below. If it doesn't hurt anyone, it's OK. Or the worse, if no one knows, who cares? Someone will always know--Jesus.

It isn't always easy to do the right thing--I don't care how old you are. But when you do do the right thing, doesn't it feel good? You can look others, yourself and especially your Lord in the eyes and not be afraid.

Having integrity may cause you to lose money, friends or favor, but as our verse states, "God will not reject a person of integrity," and isn't that what matters most?

So, the next time you are tempted to lower your standard of integrity--STOP--pray, listen to the Lord as He talks to your spirit and then act as a child of His would. You'll do the right thing.
